Live project:

MAKING IMPACT RELEVANT AND MANAGEABLE FOR NEWBRIDGE PROJECT.

The NewBridge Project is an active artist-led community based in Shieldfield, Newcastle. They provide space and support alongside their artist-led programme of exhibitions, commissions, artist development and events. We’re collaborating with the team to make the vital process of measuring their impact more relevant, straightforward and engaging. Organisations such as NewBridge Project must demonstrate their social value for funding from bodies such as Arts Council England. We will be working over the coming months to transform the process from one of extraction to empowerment.

Strengthening and empowering the team

The team already undertakes a range of evaluation and measurement activities. Our focus will be to bring these various techniques together alongside a suite of AKOU tools to make the overall process more manageable and effective. The team will also be taking part in AKOU’s Collective Perspective giving valuable insight into their network and social capital.

Supporting studio members

We’ll also be working with studio members (artists who have studio space at NewBridge). Through a series of events, tools and activities we will support them to reconsider how they perceive the value they create. We will assist them to better measure and demonstrate the social impact of their artistic practice providing evidence for funding grants like the Arts Council England or the Lottery Project. And more widely we’ll reframe their perspective about the network they are a part of at NewBridge.

We’ll be carrying out a range of activities with the NewBridge team and studio members over the coming months and will keep you posted on our activity.
