Eggtooth is a creative wellbeing service for children, young people, parents and professionals. Based in Hastings, East Sussex, the not-for-profit enterprise provides necessary and life-saving mental health care to young people both on and off CAMHS waiting lists.
The Challenge
Eggtooth provides life-saving mental health care to young people. Since 2022 they’ve supported 2,155 young people and delivered over 17,000 sessions to those in Hastings suffering with poor mental health.
Yet Eggtooth was under threat of being defunded with the loss of PCN/NHS funding. The team needed a compelling and comprehensive report demonstrating the impact of their service on the local community to secure future funding.
AKOU’s Impact
Building on our previous success in enhancing Eggtooth’s data collection, we were excited to take the next step and craft a compelling impact report that would truly capture their value.
Over five months, we engaged 137 key stakeholders through surveys and interviews in order to develop a robust dataset through which we are able to assess the efficacy, reach, and impact of Eggtooth’s work in the local area. We worked closely with the Eggtooth team to access internally gathered financial and feedback data to supplement our findings. Further place and social context desk research was conducted to contextualise the data gathered within Hastings and nationally.

End Result
Eggtooth now has a comprehensive report that presents the value and impact of their service in a compelling way. The report demonstrates the volume of need for their service while highlighting the efficacy of their service. It also celebrates the local trust and embeddedness that Eggtooth has built in the community through its work.
