How can women and girls feel safer?

Exploring how Transport for London (TfL) and local businesses can make communities feel safer on public transport in Canning Town.

Safer Spaces Canning Town

In spring 2023 we ran an engagement programme with the local community of Canning Town to gather new data and insights about how safe women and girls felt when using the local bus station and bus network.

Across a series of events, drop ins, street interviews and surveys we learnt about how the community would like direct change to make their area safer.

Why are we doing this?

The only way to make our community safe is to involve the community in that conversation. CCTV and security can only do so much. TfL needs your help to provide evidence, experiences and pathways to ensure safety for all.

TfL wants you to feel confident to travel and for that to happen, we need your voices and your ideas on how to do things differently.
